Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators made an arrest on a home invasion and a robbery by force incident that occurred on Thursday, December 4, 2014. The incidents were separate, but committed by the same suspect.

 

The first incident occurred before 7:30pm Thursday night. It was reported that the male suspect came to the 67 year old male victim’s residence on Tucker Valley Road and borrowed some money from the victim. The victim said the suspect came back an hour later and assaulted him. The victim’s wallet was also missing from his residence. The victim told deputies that the suspect’s name was Dale Brewer, a 50 year old white male of Lizella. The victim knew Brewer. The victim had a small cut on top of his head. The wound was treated at the scene and did not require him to be transported to a hospital.

 

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators were notified and a lookout was placed on Brewer and the 2001 blue Chevrolet Silverado he was driving.

 

The second incident which was a robbery by force occurred just before 10:30pm Thursday night. It was reported that the 60 year old victim came home to his residence on Forest Place around 6:00pm and found the suspect, Dale Brewer at his home. He stated Brewer comes over and visits him from time to time. The victim stated Brewer left and returned again between 10:00pm and 10:30pm. He said Brewer told him he was going to use his restroom and walked towards the hallway. Brewer came walking back towards the front door a few minutes later carrying a rifle that belonged to a friend that the victim was doing some work on. The victim attempted to stop Brewer from taking the rifle and was shoved to the ground. Brewer left in what was described as a two toned color Chevrolet pickup truck. Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators were notified and a lookout was placed on Brewer and the truck.

 

At around 12:30am this morning, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted by a Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy at a store in the 4000 block of Mercer University Drive. The truck left the store as the deputy was waiting for another patrol deputy to assist him. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the truck. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Brewer, led deputies on a vehicle chase which ended on Brown Drive at Mosely Dixon Road when Brewer lost control of the vehicle and wrecked.  He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division after being treated for some cuts and scrapes at the scene. He was charged with 2 counts of robbery and fleeing from and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. Brewer was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. His bond is set at $23,700.00.
