Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a Macon man in connection with the death of 43-year-old Lemuel Wilson, that occurred on April 29, 2023 on Fourth Avenue.
Investigators were able to link 20-year-old Isaiah Joshua Bailey to the shooting death of 43-year-old Lemuel Wilson. Bailey was detained and questioned today after agreeing to meet with investigators. Bailey was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County jail. He is being charged with Murder and is being held without bond currently.

Death Investigation on Fourth Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the 1400 block of Fourth Avenue, just after 7:00 a.m.
Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Fourth Avenue regarding a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found 43-year-old Lemuel Wilson, of Macon, unresponsive in the residence. It was reported that Wilson and a female were in the residence when an unknown subject fired multiple shots into the residence. Wilson was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. The next of kin has been notified by Deputy Coroner Miley. No one else was injured during the incident.
There is no information on the suspect currently. The above information is preliminary and could change as the investigation progresses.
