Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators, along with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested a Macon man in connection to the shooting death of 30-year-old Keonta Quintez Rouse of Macon, on May 19, 2022.
It was reported that just after 2:00 p.m., due to a Crimestoppers tip, Marshals and investigators, along with patrol deputies, located 27-year-old Brian Christopher Horton Jr, of Macon at an apartment at 2050 Merriwood Drive. Horton was taken into custody without incident.
Horton was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigations Office to be interviewed. He was later taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with Murder along with warrants for other cases. He is being held without bond at this time.

Death Investigation at River Park Apartments
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating a death that occurred at the River Park Apartments, located at 720 Tidewater Circle.
It was reported that a call came into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center in reference to several shots fired at the River Park Apartments at 1:12p.m. Deputies arrived at the scene and found an unresponsive male in front of building 30.
The male victim, 30-year-old Keonta Quintez Rouse of Macon, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coroner Leon Jones. According to Coroner Jones, the next of kin has been notified.
This investigation is in its early stages. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
