The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit made an arrest in connection with an Aggravated Battery investigation. The incident occurred at the Corner Grocery Store at 2057 Walnut Street on April 14, 2024.
On April 16, 2024, at 10:29 a.m., a call came into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center reporting an assault of a 57-year-old male, currently admitted in Atrium Health Navicent in critical condition. Deputies responded to assist. It was reported the victim was involved in an altercation that occurred at the Corner Grocery Store on April 14, 2024, on a Sunday afternoon. Upon further review of the incident, investigators were able to confirm the assault occurred at the location and identify the suspect as 43-year-old Antoine Joseph McCall of Macon.
On April 18, 2024, Thursday morning just before 10:30 a.m., Antoine McCall was apprehended near the intersection of Walnut Street and Ward Street. He was then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Antoine Joseph McCall was currently wanted in Bibb County for Superior Court Probation Violation. He now faces a charge of Aggravated Battery. Currently, McCall does not have a bond.
According to medical staff, the victim is still listed in critical condition. His identity will not be released at this time.
