Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies make an arrest in connection with an aggravated assault investigation. The incident occurred within the 900 block of Hillcrest Boulevard.

The call for assistance came into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just after 3:00 p.m., Monday afternoon. A male was reported shot in the area. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a 59-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived on the scene to treat the victim. He was then transported to a medical facility by ambulance. According to medical staff, the victim is listed in critical but stable condition. No one else was harmed during the incident.

After further investigation, 36-year-old Larry Christopher Baker was identified as the suspect in connection with the shooting. Deputies were able to locate the suspect at a residence within the 3400 block of Shenandoah Drive. Baker refused to exit the residence at the request of deputies.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Gang Unit prepared to execute a search warrant for the residence. At that point, Larry Baker surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody. A firearm was also recovered from the residence. Baker was transported to Investigations Headquarters. After further investigation, Larry Baker was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Larry Christopher Baker was charged with Aggravated Assault. He does not have a bond at this time.
