Commercial Robbery At Local Convenience Store
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial robbery that occurred at the Qwik Zip located at 1800 Pio Nono Avenue just after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. It was reported the male suspect entered the store earlier and was playing a game machine in the store. After a while the suspect walked over to one of the employees and asked the employee if he wanted to buy a chain. The employee declined and the suspect went back to the machine. As the male employee opened the door to the booth, the suspect ran and jumped on the employee. A female employee also in the store grabbed a gun when she saw the suspect jump on the other employee. The suspect then fought with the female employee trying to take the gun, but did not take the gun away. The suspect forced her out of the booth and closed the door. The suspect opened the register and took the money out of the register. After taking the money, the suspect fled on foot from the store.
The suspect is described as a black male. He was wearing a dark colored shirt, appears to be blue in color, baseball type cap with what appears to be an animal face on the cap. The suspect also has facial hair. A photograph of the suspect is attached.
The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect, or the incident is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
