Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a 48-year-old male suspect in connection to the commercial robbery that occurred at around 11:00 a.m., Tuesday morning.
Wesley Gerald Sorrow, of Lizella, was arrested at the Dismas Charities halfway house, located at 744 2nd Street, just after 4:00 p.m. Sorrow was taken into custody without incident. The cash taken during this robbery was also recovered.
Sorrow was staying at the halfway house after being released from prison on May 14, 2019 for serving time for an armed robbery that occurred in 2007.
Sorrow was transported to the Criminal Investigation Unit where he was interviewed. After being interviewed Sorrow was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and was booked for robbery with no bond.

Commercial Robbery at American Pride Bank
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Robbery of the American Pride Bank, located at 4511 Forsyth Road the incident occurred just before 11:00 a.m.
It was reported that the suspect walked inside the bank and handed the bank teller a note. The suspect demanded money on the written note. Once the suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the scene.
The suspect fled the bank parking lot in the direction of Burger King.
The suspect is described as a white male, bald head with a goatee. Last seen wearing a blue ball cap, white or gray shirt and blue pants.
