On Friday afternoon at around 5:15 p.m. the US Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force along with investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Fort Valley Police Department, Peach County Sheriff’s Office and Byron police Department arrested 25 year old Jerome Nelson. He is charged with armed robbery in connection with the commercial armed robbery of the Family Dollar, located at 2123 Pio Nono Ave, that occurred on September 29, 2016.

Nelson was apprehended in Fort Valley without incident. Nelson was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charge of armed robbery. He currently has no bond.

Commercial Armed Robbery At The Family Dollar

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the Family Dollar, located at 2123 Pio Nono Ave. It was reported that just before 11:00a.m.,   a male suspect walked up to the store employee brandishing two handguns. The suspect jumped over the stores counter taking cash from the stores register.  The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area in a dark in color vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7, slender build. He was last seen wearing a black net Halloween mask and dark colored clothing.
