Investigators arrested 32-year-old Cody Aaron Stephenson in connection to the aggravated assault that occurred at Motel 6. It was reported that there was an argument that occurred between the men, that resulted in Stephenson retrieving a gun and firing shots at the men through the door and window of the room. Stephenson was booked into the Bibb County Jail on charges of reckless conduct and two counts of aggravated assault. He is being held without bond.

Aggravated Assault Investigation on Riverside Parkway

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that occurred at Motel 6 located at 105 Riverside Parkway, just after 3:00 p.m. Friday.

The call came into the E-911 Center at 3:05 p.m… Deputies responded to the scene and immediately secured a person of interest related to the shooting. Deputies then discovered a twenty-five-year-old and forty-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victims to Atrium Health Navicent for medical treatment. According to the Medical Staff, both are in stable condition.

Investigators are on the scene working to determine what led up to the incident.
