Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person stabbed at C Mini Mart located at 3380 Houston Avenue, at around 4:10PM Monday afternoon. When deputies arrived at the store, the clerk reported that a black male, later identified as 29 year old Jerome Smith was making a purchase in the store. A black female, later identified as 28 year old Tyesha Haslam entered the store, yelling at Smith and stabbed him in the left leg with a kitchen knife. Haslem is Smith’s ex-girlfriend.
Haslem and Smith exchanged words before Haslem exited the store and left. Smith was taken to the Navicent Health by a friend where he was treated for his injury. The injury is non-life-threatening.
A few hours later Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies located Haslam. She was detained and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division for questioning. Haslam has been charged with aggravated assault. She was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. No bond has been set
