An arrest was made Monday afternoon, November 13, 2017, at around 4:00 p.m. in the shooting incident that occurred at Cherry Tree Hill Apartments located at 2050 Old Clinton Road on September 30, 2017. The U.S. Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force and Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24 year old Tommy Lewis Dumas Jr. for aggravated assault.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Coliseum Medical Center just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, September 30, 2017, in reference to a male that came into the emergency center with gunshot wounds. It was reported that the male, identified as 24 year old Tommy Dumas, came to the apartment of his ex-girlfriend at Cherrytree Hill Apartments. Dumas forced his way into the apartment armed with an assault rifle and fired shots. A male reported to be a friend of the ex-girlfriend was also in the apartment and grabbed his handgun, firing shots at Dumas, striking him twice. Dumas ran out of the apartment and had another person drive him to the hospital.
No other arrest have been made at this time.
