Bibb County Sheriff deputies make an arrest during a traffic stop on February 22, 2020. It was reported that a deputy was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 247. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on a Kia SUV that was speeding 20 miles over the 55 mile speed limit.

The deputy made contact with the driver, 36-year-old Sarah Tesfai, of Macon. It was reported that when the deputy approached the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana came from the SUV. Tesfai advised the deputy that there was a small single marijuana cigarette inside of the vehicle.  Upon a further search of the vehicle, incident to arrest.  Tesfai lunged at deputies in an attempt to take her wallet away from them.  After a search of the wallet, powder cocaine was found inside. A further search produced a container with marijuana, several vials of THC oils called AK-47 dank Vapes, and a plastic bag that Tesfai stated contained cough syrup, but had an odor of marijuana.

Tesfai was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I or II Narcotics, and Obstruction of Law Enforcement.  Tesfai’s  bond was set at $13,180.00
