The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence inside the 3400 block of Mary Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 1:53 a.m., Saturday morning.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area to investigate a ShotSpotter alert and a report of a person down. When deputies arrived on scene, they observed a 56-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a medical facility for treatment. According to medical staff, the victim is listed in critical but stable condition. No one else was injured during the incident.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
