The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Walnut Street. The incident took place at around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
We are still in the early stages of the investigation. Investigators are speaking with possible witnesses and processing the scene in an attempt to identify those involved and to determine what events took place that led to the shooting incident. One person was reported to have been shot.
Kerrick Mitchell, age 25 from Macon was reported to have been shot in the upper back area. He was transported to the hospital where he is listed to be in stable condition. No one else was reported to have been injured during this incident.
This incident is under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
