The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred at 2140 Ingleside Avenue, Ingleside Town Homes at 02:02 a.m.
Deputies responded to 2140 Ingleside Avenue in front of building K regarding a male subject that was shot. Upon arrival deputies found 26-year-old Tavern Lave Downing Jr. with multiple gunshots wounds. Downing was taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center for treatment. He is currently listed in critical, but stable condition. No one else was injured during the incident.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators detained 24-year-old Reginald Terrell Braxton, of Macon, and transported him to the Investigations Office to be interviewed. Braxton was later transported to the Bibb County jail and charged with Aggravated Assault. He is being held without bond at this time.
