The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an accidental shooting that took place at around 8:30p.m., Friday. According to witness statements, 26- year- old Matthew Wesley Robert Harvey and his female friend, 30- year- old Jordan Lynch were at a residence located in the 1100 block of Hendley Street when the incident occurred. Lynch was cleaning out her purse as they were getting ready to go out for the evening. Lynch went to remove her handgun from the purse and accidentally shot Harvey in the right knee.
Lynch drove Harvey to a gas station located at 4933 Sardis Church Road where they met with an ambulance. Harvey was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he is listed to be in stable condition.
