The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that occurred on Vineville Ave, near its intersection with Stonewall Place at around 8:30a.m. Friday morning. It was reported that 32 year old Michael Pickard of Kathleen was traveling west on Vineville Avenue when a small black vehicle immediately stopped in front of him. Pickard immediately slammed on brakes and swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him. He then went off the roadway and hit a wall. Pickard’s 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee to roll onto its driver’s side as the vehicle went up the wall. The jeep slid down the sidewalk and back onto the roadway, hitting a vehicle that was stopped in traffic in the west bound lane of Vineville Avenue.
No one was injured during this incident. The roadway was blocked for approximately 45 minutes.
