On April 26, 2018 at around 7:12a.m., an accident with injuries occurred in the 4600 block of Pio Nono Avenue. The accident involved three vehicles, a Toyota Yaris, driven by 48 year old Danny Parker of Danville Georgia, a Ford Ranger, driven by 30 year old Corey Compton of Macon, and a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 25 year old William Wood of Warner Robins.

It was reported that the Toyota, driven by Parker slowed or stopped in the left, south bound lane of PioNono Avenue. He was attempting to make a left turn at 4600 PioNono Avenue. Parker’s vehicle was struck from behind by the Ford Ranger, driven by a Mr. Compton.

According to Compton, he looked down to adjust his thermostat and when he looked up, he noticed that the Toyota Yaris had stopped in front of his vehicle. He applied the brakes and swerved in an attempt to avoid colliding with the Toyota, but was unsuccessful.

When the Ford Ranger struck the Toyota, the force of the impact sent the Toyota into the northbound lanes of travel and into the path of the Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Wood. The Toyota then collided with the Chevrolet Silverado, sending the Toyota into a drainage ditch.

Parker was transported to the Navicent Health Center for treatment of the injuries that he had received during the accident, the other two drivers received minor injuries and did not seek treatment.

Mr. Danny Parker passed away Friday morning at around 4:00a.m.
