On Thursday, September 14, 2017 an arrest was made in connection with the burglary and arson that occurred on September 13, 2017 at the Pacecar Express located at 2243 Shurling Drive. The arrest was made in a joint effort between the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, Special Investigations Unit and Crimes against Property Investigations. The Macon-Bibb Fire Department Arson Investigator had determined that the fire was purposely set.

During the investigation information was received of a suspect identified by his “street name”.  Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators followed up on the information and the suspect’s real name was discovered. He is a 16 year old black male juvenile. On Thursday at around 2:00 p.m. the suspect was located and detained. He was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division to be questioned. The juvenile has been charged with burglary and arson. He was taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center and booked on the charges.
