On Wednesday after 8:00pm the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 27 year old Eddie Hightower. He is charged in connection with the criminal attempt to commit robbery of the Tom’s Mart, located at 3010 Houston Ave that occurred on August 15, 2017.
Hightower was apprehended without incident. Hightower was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charge of criminal attempt to commit a felony. He currently has no bond.
The second suspect has not been identified.

Public’s Assistance In Identifying Suspect In Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery At Tom’s Mart
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the suspects; that attempted to commit armed robbery at Tom’s Mart, located at 3010 Houston Avenue, on Tuesday at 2:30 a.m. It was originally reported by the store employee that one of the two suspects was armed with a black in color handgun.
It was reported that two black male suspects entered the store and obtained several cans of alcoholic beverages. The suspects attempted to leave the store without paying but were stopped by the stores security door. During the incident one of the suspects brandished a handgun, while walking toward the store employee. The suspects forced the security door open and fled the store on foot. No one was injured during the incident.
