Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person shot at 1195 Lamont Street just after 8:30 a.m. Monday morning. It was reported that 44 year old Santonio Mattox was asleep inside the home on Lamont Street when a black male entered the home and confronted Mattox, with a gun. The suspect and Mattox had a verbal altercation. Mattox struggled with the suspect and was shot once in the right side of the abdomen. The suspect fled the house after shooting Mattox.
Mattox was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for the gunshot wound. He is listed in stable condition. No further information is available at this time.
