Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person shot just before 6:45 p.m. at 3380 Houston Avenue, C Mini Mart. When deputies arrived at the store they found the victim, 18 year old Marqurse Jones, lying in the parking lot. Jones told deputies that he had been shot twice in the right leg. He told deputies he did not know who had shot him.
It was reported that Jones and another man, whose name is not known at this time, were fighting in the parking lot of the store earlier. A store employee said he told both men to leave then. He said as soon as they left he heard what sounded like gunshots. Jones was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
