The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Forsyth Road at North Wellington just after 9:20am this morning. It was reported that 69 year old John Phillips of Macon was jogging down Forsyth Road. When Phillips crossed Forsyth Road at North Wellington he was struck by a Chambers Petroleum Company Truck, driven by 35 year old Aundra Macklin. Witnesses reported Phillips ran out in front of the truck.
Phillips was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident is currently under investigation and no charges have been made at this time. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
