The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred at the Church’s Chicken Restaurant, located at 1425 Georgia Avenue, Thursday night just after 10:30 p.m.

It was reported by an employee that the business had already closed and the doors were locked. Two males approached the front door from the outside displaying guns and tapping on the glass for the employees to let them in. One employee unlocked the door and the two suspects entered. One of the suspects described as light-skinned black male, jumped the counter ordering an employee, who was in the kitchen, to lie down on the floor. This suspect took the employee’s cellphone. The second suspect, described as a dark-skinned black male, went to the employee that had unlocked the door, taking that employee’s cellphone and made her go to the back of the store.

A third employee was cleaning up in the back of the store. He was pushed to the floor by one of the suspects who held him and one of the employees at gunpoint while the other suspect took the other employee to the safe and ordered her to open it. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the safe and two registers. After taking the money both suspects ran out of the restaurant on foot towards Monroe Street.

The light-skinned black male was described as wearing all black clothing and a black t-shirt on his face. The dark-skinned black male was described as wearing an army fatigue ski mask, gray, white and black jacket and black pants.  Both appeared to be young and slender.
