Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shoplifting incident in progress at Kohl’s Department Store, located at 6275 Zebulon Road on Thursday afternoon at around 6:00p.m. Deputies met with the Loss Prevention Officer for Kohl’s upon arriving at the store.

It was reported that a white male suspect wearing jean shorts and a green shirt ran out of a side rear door of the store with several items of clothing. The male suspect, identified as 22 year old David Marshall, from Perry, came to the store in a tan Lincoln Town Car which was still in the parking lot, occupied by a white female identified as 39 year old Deanna Dennis, from Macon. Deputies made contact with the Dennis and detained her as they were attempting to locate Marshall.

As deputies were behind the store searching for Marshall, two white males were spotted running with a shopping cart full of clothing, which Marshall had left earlier when running from the store. The two males, one being Marshall and the other later identified as 42 year old Christopher Walton, from Warner Robins, ran towards a silver 2006 Honda Civic, threw the clothing from the cart into the trunk of the Honda. Marshall and Walton jumped into the Honda and sped off, almost striking one of the deputies. As the Honda sped off towards Lamar Road, the driver, Marshall, struck two Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Cars as those two deputies were in the area assisting. Both deputies were checked for minor injuries at the scene and are ok.

The passenger of the Honda, Walton, attempted to flee on foot after the collision with the patrol cars. He was taken into custody. The driver, Marshall also fled on foot. Deputies chased after Marshall on foot and lost sight of him. A few minutes later deputies received information of a white male, shirtless, walking near the I-475 Off-Ramp near Zebulon Road. Deputies went to the area and took the male, who was Marshall, into custody. Marshall had taken off the jacket and shirt he was wearing previously while running away from the scene. His clothing was recovered.

The clothing taken from Kohl’s was recovered and returned to the store. The Honda Civic was discovered to be a stolen vehicle out of Warner Robins. All three suspects were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
