Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic accident with injuries in the 2600 block of Tredway Drive just before 8:00AM Wednesday morning. It was reported that an International 7400 Sanitation Truck, driven by 38 year old Dennis Fitzpatrick, from Macon, was stopped in the eastbound lane of Tredway Drive. Fitzpatrick and two other sanitation employees were picking up the residential trash. As two of the employees were at the back of the sanitation truck, loading the trash into the truck, a 2001 Ford Pickup Truck driven by 52 year old Nedra Mack, from Macon, was approaching the sanitation truck in the eastbound lane. The pickup truck struck the rear of the sanitation truck, pinning the two employees, 30 year old Quincy Joyce, from Macon and 40 year old Eric Hill, from Macon, between the two vehicles.

Joyce and Hill had to be extricated from between the two vehicles by Macon-Bibb Firefighters. They were transported to the Navicent Health Hospital for injuries they received. Both are listed in serious but stable condition at the present time. No other injuries were reported by Fitzpatrick or Mack.

The accident is currently under investigation and charges are pending the completion of the investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this accident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the on call traffic accident investigator.
