The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at around 7:15a.m. Tuesday morning. It was reported that 23-year-old Michael Gribble of Macon and two associates were riding in an orange colored Honda Accord in the area of Bonnie Avenue, near Nesbit Avenue. An argument ensued between the three men and the driver pulled over to the side of the road. The associate that was sitting in the front passenger seat of the vehicle got out and shot Gribble in the stomach. The suspect immediately fled the scene. The driver also fled the area when the shooting took place, leaving Gribble sitting in the back of the vehicle. Gribble got out of the vehicle and flagged a Macon Transit Authority bus driver that was driving down Bonnie Drive. The bus driver called the Macon-Bibb 911 Center and notified dispatchers that they were in the 2700 block of Bonnie Avenue. Deputies and EMS were immediately called to the scene. Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators were also called to the scene. Gribble was transported to a local hospital by ambulance where he is listed to be in stable condition. The suspect is described as a black male. He is approximately 6 feet in height and was last seen wearing a black shirt and brown cargo pants. No further information at this time.
