Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic accident with injuries just after 6:30PM, Sunday afternoon on Interstate 75 South between Hardeman Avenue and Mercer University Drive. It was reported that 51 year old Arno Quon, of Warner Robins Georgia was driving his 2011 Toyota Sienna on I-75 South in the middle lane. A 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 66 year old Edward Boland, of Bonaire Georgia was also traveling I-75 South in the middle lane. The Chevrolet Suburban came up behind the Toyota Sienna and attempted to enter the right southbound lane, striking the Toyota Sienna. The Chevrolet Suburban continued into the emergency lane on the right side of the southbound lanes, striking the guardrail. The Suburban then traveled to the left side of the southbound lanes, striking the cement divider between the southbound and northbound lanes coming to a stop. Boland was ejected from the passenger side of the Suburban during the accident.

 

Boland was transported to the Medical Center Navicent Health to be treated for his injuries. He is listed in critical condition. Quon and the passengers in his vehicle were checked out by paramedics at the scene but did not need to be transported to a hospital.

 

This accident is currently under investigation. There are no charges at this time pending the completion of the investigation.
