The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab identified the body of a male that was found in Ocmulgee River on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Crime Lab Investigators used finger print analysis to identify the body as 52-year-old Winston Gamble of Macon.

It was originally reported that Kayakers found the body of an unknown male, approximately 300 feet south of the Second Street Bridge. Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators and members of the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department responded to the Spring Street boat ramp and began the recovery process.

Gamble’s body was sent to the G.B.I. Crime Lab at the beginning of the week for an autopsy. Medical Examiners are awaiting the toxicology report. Foul play is not suspected at this time.

According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.
