The US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force along with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 35 year old Verconus Redding Monday afternoon just after 6:00PM on a Crimestoppers Tip. Redding was arrested on Eisenhower Parkway without incident. Redding was wanted for aggravated assault and home invasion in reference to an incident that occurred at 2420 Goodwin Drive on Monday, May 18, 2015 just after 10:30AM. When Redding attempted to enter the residence on Goodwin Drive, one of the victims inside the home slammed the door on Redding’s arm. Redding was armed at the time with a handgun and fired the gun, striking the victim in the hand. As Redding pulled his arm out of the door he fired two more shots striking another victim in the shoulder. Redding fled the scene, firing another shot into a side window. Redding was also wanted for aggravated assault on a separate incident that occurred on Saturday, May 30, 2015 just before 10:00PM at the M&M Food Store located at 2760 Montpelier Avenue. Redding armed at the time with a pistol, fired several times at a vehicle that was parked outside the store by the gas pumps, striking the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied at the time by a 35 year old female and her infant child. No one was injured during this incident. Redding is also charged with a parole violation and probation violation. He is currently at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. No bond has been set. Both incidents are currently under investigation.
