Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 19 year old Malik Tajhae Young, of Macon, this afternoon at around 7:00PM in the fatal shooting of Marquis Lowe. It was originally reported that Young and Lowe were meeting up with another person at the abandoned carwash at the corner of Main Street and Jones Avenue in east Macon to sell a gun. Lowe handed the firearm to the other person, who was later identified as Jaqavius Javon Holloway. Young reported that Holloway turned the gun on Lowe. Lowe and Holloway struggled over the gun and Lowe was fatally shot.
Investigators met with Young this afternoon at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division to talk with him again. Information led investigators to discover that Young and Lowe went to meet Holloway on the day of the shooting with the intent to rob Holloway. As a result Lowe was fatally shot. A warrant was signed on Young for murder. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. No bond has been set on Young.
