The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place on Saturday night at around 9:18p.m., at the Macon Garden Apartments, located at 3601 Mercer University Drive. Witnesses’ stated that an outdoor party was taking place at the back of the apartment complex when a fight broke out between several people. Shots were fired during the fight and 23-year-old Tyrell Javon Jackson was struck in the head as he was walking between two apartment buildings, close to where the fight took place.
Jackson was transported to a local hospital where he is listed to be in stable condition. No one else was injured during this incident.
Investigators are still gathering information about the events that took place at the party and are continuing to contact possible witnesses in an attempt to identify those involved.
