Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested the suspect in an Aggravated Assault incident that occurred just before 6:20 p.m. in the parking lot of Walmart at 6020 Harrison Road.
It was reported that the male victim was sitting in the lower parking lot inside his vehicle when he was approached by a male. The male attempted to make entry into the vehicle and when the driver started the vehicle, the suspect fired shots through the passenger window.
The driver was struck in the leg and attempted to flee from the suspect by driving around the back of Walmart and then around to the lower entrance. He then ran inside for help. He was transported to Atrium Health and is listed in stable condition. No one else was injured in the incident.
The suspect, 21-year-old Ja’Quan D’Oderick Andrews was apprehended moments later by members of the SRT Unit and patrol deputies in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree. Andrews was transported to the Bibb County jail and charged with Aggravated Assault. He is being held without bond.
