On November 27, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., thirty-three-year-old Shavis Terrell Hicks of Macon was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Shavis Hicks was wanted in Bibb County in connection with the death of twenty-three-year-old Jermaine Brandon Reynolds on September 15, 2022.

Hicks was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center by deputies of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

Shavis Terrell Hicks faces a charge of Aggravated Assault and Murder. He does not have a bond.

Asking for the Public’s help with identifying a Person of Interest

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in helping to identify and locate a person of interest in a violent crime case.

In the video, the person of interest is a slender black male wearing all black. He appears to have braided hair that is tied back and has a beard.

Death Investigation in Denton Street

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened near the corner of Denton Street and Haywood Road just after 8:30 p.m.

Deputies responded to a call of a person shot at the intersection Denton Street and Haywood Road. Upon arrival, deputies located a 23-year-old Jermaine Brandon Reynolds unresponsive lying in the road. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. The next of kin has been notified by Coroner Leon Jones.
