Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies made over a dozen arrests in connection with a Conspiracy to Commit a Felony investigation.
On October 13, 2023, it was reported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office by representatives of Elite Pre-Settlement LLC., that their company had a large undisclosed amount of funds that was stolen by fraudulent means. It was further reported multiple individuals, as part of a scheme led by a now former employee of the Ken Nugent Law Firm, 37-year-old Jennifer Croom Denton, made false settlement claims to obtain checks from Elite Pre-Settlement LLC. Those individuals then cashed those fraudulently obtained checks.
Sixteen arrests have been made in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be made.
