Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested several suspects in connection with a shoplifting investigation at two Spirit Halloween stores.

 

On October 27, 2023, just after 10:30 a.m., patrol deputies responded to Spirit Halloween at 265 Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard regarding a report of shoplifting. It was reported that multiple females entered the store, took possession of several costumes, and exited the store without paying for any of the merchandise. The females were observed entering a silver Honda Odyssey and leaving the property. At 11:27 a.m., it was reported to deputies that multiple females entered the Spirit Halloween at 3653 Eisenhower Parkway and took possession of several costumes, and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The females fled the property in a silver Honda Odyssey. Deputies spotted and stopped the uninsured silver Honda Odyssey just before noon on Ell Street.

The suspects were identified as forty-one-year-old Charlyn Gwenette Worthy, thirty-three-year-old Nyreshia Dashay Smith, seventeen-year-old Denisha Lashay Jones of Macon, also, thirty-year-old Kametrious Chatoria Ross and twenty-one-year-old Cornetta Carrie Blount of Warner Robins. All women were transported to Investigations Headquarters for further investigation.

Charlyn Gwenette Worthy, Nyreshia Dashay Smith, Denisha Lashay Jones, Kametrious Chatoria Ross, and Cornetta Carrie Blount were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where they all face charges of Felony Theft by Shoplifting. Charlyn Worthy was currently wanted in Henry County. Kametrious Chatoria Ross was currently wanted in Bibb County for Probation Violation. Nyreshia Dashay Smith was currently wanted in Bibb County for Theft by Shoplifting. Their warrants have been served. Nyreshia Dashay Smith and Denisha Lashay Jones face an additional charge of Giving False Information to Law Enforcement Officers.

All merchandise was returned to Spirit Halloween.
