The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Heron Street, just after 8:00 p.m., Saturday.
Deputies responded to the intersection of Heron Street and Wren Avenue regarding a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they located a fifteen-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to Atrium Health Navicent Hospital by ambulance. According to Medical Staff, he was pronounced deceased at 9:05 p.m. The name of the victim will not be released at this time. The next of kin has been notified.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
