The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Quick Serve located at 584 Emery Highway.

On September 16, 2023, at 12:54 a.m., Deputies responded to the Quick Serve regarding a person shot. Deputies arrived on the scene at 1:00 a.m. and found twenty-three-year-old Jamon Deshon Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound. Jackson was transported by ambulance to Navicent Atrium Healthcare for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injury. He was pronounced deceased by medical staff.  According to medical staff, the next of kin has been notified.

There was a second person of interest who also suffered from a gunshot wound related to this incident. He was reported to have been transported to Piedmont Hospital by personal vehicle, where he was treated for his injury. No one else was reported injured.

The person of interest was identified as twenty-three-year-old Nicktarios Linardo Kinder. Kinder was released after receiving treatment for his injury. He was then taken into custody by Deputies for his connection with the death of Jamon Deshon Jackson. Nicktarios Linardo Kinder was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he was charged with Murder. Kinder was also wanted in Bibb County for Superior Court Violation of Probation. He is currently being held without bond.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.

Death Investigation on Emery Highway

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Quick Serve located at 584 Emery Highway.

On September 16, 2023, at 12:54 a.m., Deputies responded to the Quick Serve regarding a person shot. Deputies arrived on the scene at 1:00 a.m. and found a twenty-three-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injury. He was pronounced deceased by medical staff. A second twenty-three-year-old male who also suffered from a gunshot wound, was reported to have been transported to a medical facility by personal vehicle. He is currently listed in stable condition. No one else was reported injured.

Investigators are working to determine what led up to the incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
