Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested thirty-one-year-old Clark Lavon Anthony, in connection with the death of fifty-six-year-old Jeffery Giddens. The incident occurred on February 18, 2023. On September 14, 2023, Thursday morning, Anthony was apprehended and transported to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters for further investigation. Clark Lavon Anthony was later transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he faces a charge of Murder. He currently does not have a bond.

Update: Aggravated Assault Investigation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified that 56-year-old Jeffery Giddens died at the hospital from an injury that he received during an incident that took place on Village Green Drive.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, Giddens was pronounced deceased Sunday evening. The next of kin has been notified.
This incident and the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.

Aggravated Assault Investigation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault that took place on Village Green Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 1:17 p.m., on Saturday.
It was reported that an unknown male approached 56-year-old Jeffery Giddens at his home and got into a verbal argument. The verbal argument became physical. During the physical altercation, Giddens was hit in the head with an unknown object. Giddens fell to the ground and the other male individual fled the area.
The Sheriff’s Office and E.M.S. were called to the scene. Giddens was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Giddens is currently listed to be in critical condition.
Investigators are working on identifying the other male individual who was involved in the altercation with Giddens. The circumstances of this incident are under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
