Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 18-year-old Darrell Lester Wilson III, in connection to the death of 21-year-old Eric Payton Thomas Jr., which occurred on June 16, 2023.
On September 6, 2023, Wilson was arrested on a warrant for murder and several other outstanding warrants in Bibb County including Possession of a Firearm by a person eighteen and under and multiple counts of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. Darrell Lester Wilson III was apprehended without incident and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Wilson does not have a bond.

Arrest Made In Montpelier Ave Death Investigation
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested 17-year-old Marcello Morvon Williams, in connection to the death of 21-year-old Eric Payton Thomas Jr., which occurred on June 16, 2023. Williams was arrested on warrants for murder on June 20, 2023. Williams was detained and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Williams does not have a bond at this time.

Death Investigation on Montpelier Ave
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the parking lot of 2241 Montpelier Ave. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 7:49 p.m., Friday evening.
It was reported that 21-year-old Eric Payton Thomas Jr. was found inside his vehicle in the parking lot. Thomas was found to be fatally wounded by gunfire.
Thomas was pronounced at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
