Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies made an additional arrest in connection to the shooting death of 43-year-old Trerico Kenyon Thomas, that happened on Greenwood Terrace just after 11:00 p.m. on May 3, 2023.

On May 18, 2023, just before 11:00 p.m., deputies took 33-year-old Joshua Franklin Polk into custody when serving a warrant for his arrest at a Bloomfield residence. Polk was considered armed and dangerous and had an additional warrant out of Clayton County. He was taken into custody without incident. Also arrested was 30-year-old Amanda Nicole Murray. Both Polk and Murray were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Amanda Murray was charged for Hindering the Apprehension or Punishment of a Criminal. Joshua Polk is charged with Murder. Polk is currently held without a bond.

Arrest Made in Death Investigation on Greenwood Terrace

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a Macon woman in connection to the shooting death of 43-year-old Trerico Kenyon Thomas, that happened on Greenwood Terrace just after 11:00 p.m. on May 3, 2023.

Investigators were able to determine that during an argument at a residence in the 2400 block of Greenwood Terrace 21-year-old Destiny Olivia Barry retrieved a firearm and shot Thomas. Barry was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigations Office and questioned. She was later transported to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Murder. Barry is being held without bond currently.

Death Investigation on Greenwood Terrace

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the 2400 block of Greenwood Terrace, just after 11:00 p.m.

Deputies responded to the 2400 block of Greenwood Terrace regarding a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found that a 43-year-old Trerico Kenyon Thomas of Macon, unresponsive in the roadway. It was reported that there was an altercation in front of a residence and during the altercation multiple shots were fired. Thomas was struck. Thomas was pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. The next of kin has been notified by Coroner Leon Jones. No one else was injured during the incident. Investigators are working to determine what lead up to the shooting.
