The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred just after 9:00 p.m. in the parking lot at 5080 Riverside Drive.
It was reported that a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling north in the parking lot headed towards Wesleyan Drive when it struck a moped. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma stopped for a second and then drove off. The driver of the moped 48-year-old Hoa Tran, of Macon, was transported to Atrium Health. Tran was pronounced deceased at 10:26 p.m. by staff. No one else was injured during the incident. The next of kin have been notified, by Coroner Leon Jones.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of the Toyota Tacoma. Anyone with information on the vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
