Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrest a suspect in connection with an Involuntary Manslaughter investigation.

On April 17, 2023, at 08:00 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators spotted 32-year-old Justin Antryon Collins, a suspect who was currently wanted in Bibb County for Involuntary Manslaughter. Collins was observed exiting the Texaco, located at 4476 Ocmlugee East Boulevard, when investigators attempted to make contact with him. Collins fled on foot and investigators pursued him. Deputies arrived to assist, and Collins was taken into custody.

Collins was also wanted in Chatham County for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Reckless Driving. He was considered to be armed and dangerous. Justin Antryon Collins was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where his arrest warrant for Involuntary Manslaughter was served.

Involuntary Manslaughter Investigation

 The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Involuntary Manslaughter incident. The incident occurred on, Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the BJ Billiard’s, located at 430 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd at around 11:53 p.m.

According to witnesses, 54-year-old Larry Liggins and another male were involved in a physical altercation while inside of this establishment. During the altercation, a male punched Liggins, causing him to fall back and hit his head against a wooden pillar. The other male left the establishment as sheriff’s deputies and paramedics were called to the scene.

When deputies and paramedics arrived at the establishment, they found Liggins unresponsive, but breathing. patrol deputies began to interview patrons at the establishment, but no one knew the identity of the second male. Liggins was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for the injury he sustained during the fight.

Sheriff’s Office investigators received an update on Monday evening of Liggins’ status. His condition progressed and he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, where he was listed in critical condition.

Once Investigators were able to identify the second male, they had warrants issued for his arrest. Investigators issued warrants for 30-year-old Justin Antryon Collins for Aggravated Battery.

Tuesday afternoon, Coroner Jones stated that Liggins passed away at 12:33 p.m. and the next of kin had been notified.

Upon receiving the information of Liggins’ passing, Investigators had the warrant upgraded from Aggravated Battery to Involuntary Manslaughter.
