Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies make an arrest in an aggravated assault incident, that took place on Columbus Road.

On April 7, 2023, at 12:10 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a distress call for assistance regarding an alleged road rage incident on Columbus Road. When deputies arrived, they met with the victim.

The victim reported that while traveling east on Columbus Road near Ivey Drive, a driver approached him from the rear in a blue Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the Malibu attempted to pass the victim on the left. While passing, the alleged impatient driver made eye contact with the victim. When the victim shrugged his shoulders, the opposing driver raised a firearm at the victim and opened fire. The victim recalled three to four shots fired, one of the shots struck his front windshield and damaged his front passenger window. The suspect sped away. The victim pursued him and observed the vehicle’s license plate number.

Deputies investigated the incident and were able to identify the vehicle’s owner and registered address, where the vehicle was located moments later. Deputies immediately observed the firearm in plain view, inside the vehicle. The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Sean Deante Hollins of Macon, the vehicle’s registered owner. Hollins turned himself over to deputies.

Sean Deante Hollins was transported from Investigations Headquarters to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Discharging a firearm on Public Roadways, and Aggressive Driving.
