Bibb County Sheriff’s Fatality Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in helping identify the driver of the vehicle that struck 46-year-old Tracie Yvonne Pitts.

It was reported that the vehicle that struck Pitts originally left the scene and later returned. The owner of the vehicle met with Fatality Investigators and stated that a black male, who is a “shade tree” mechanic, and goes by the street name of “D”, was test driving her vehicle when the incident occurred. “D” returned the vehicle to the owner and stated that she needed to go to the scene on Rocky Creek Road. Investigators are continuing to work on identifying the mechanic who was driving the vehicle.

Pedestrian Involved Fatality on Rocky Creek Road

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian involved fatal collision. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 9:43 p.m., Wednesday.

It was reported that a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, while crossing the street in the 2400 block of Rocky Creek Road.

The female victim, 46-year-old Tracie Yvonne Pitts, was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to Coroner Lonnie Miley, the next of kin has been notified.
