The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Northside Drive just before 11:00 a.m. on December 4, 2022.
It was reported that 84-year-old Daniel Edward Casey, of Macon, was driving a Nissan Rouge going north on Riverside Drive when he went to make a left turn onto Northside Drive. Casey’s vehicle was struck by a Ford Escape going south on Riverside Drive, driven by a 64-year-old female of Macon. Both drivers were transported to Atrium Health. Casey was pronounced deceased by Atrium staff at 3:57 p.m. The female is listed in stable condition at this time. No one else was injured in the collision. The next of kin has been notified at this time.
