Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators identified and arrested the suspect in connection with the death of 65-year-old Eddie Lee Davis. The original incident took place on Wednesday morning, in the 200 block of Clisby Place.

Through the course of the investigation, Bibb Sheriff’s investigators received information that lead to the arrest of 34-year-old Quartez Marquis Johnson. Investigators and patrol deputies received additional tips that an individual fitting Johnson’s description was spotted walking near the 4900 block of Riverside Drive. Bibb Sheriff’s deputies located and apprehended Johnson. He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigation Division to be interviewed.

After being interviewed about the incident, Johnson was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. Johnson is currently being held, without bond, for the charge of Murder.

Death Investigation on Clisby Place

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the 200 block of Clisby Place.

It was reported that a call of an abandoned vehicle came into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was reported to be a silver Chevrolet Impala, with dark tinted windows. Deputies arrived and discovered an unresponsive male in the back seat of the vehicle. The male was reported to be deceased from a gunshot wound to the chest area.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.

The victim has been identified as 65-year-old Eddie Lee Davis. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.
