The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the victim in the Hyundai passed away from his injuries.
Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley informed the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office that 56-year-old Darrin Dwayne Lewis, of Macon, was pronounced deceased at 7:48 p.m. on October 30, 2022. The next of Kin has been notified. Lewis succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision.
There are no charges pending currently.

Traffic Collision with Injuries on Pierce Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision that occurred just after 7:30 p.m. on Pierce Avenue near Ingleside Avenue.
It was reported that a tractor trailer, driven by a 50-year-old male of Forsyth, was traveling north on Pierce Avenue when a Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 56-year-old male of Macon crossed the center line. The 56-year-old male was transported to the Navicent Health and is listed in critical condition at this time.
The driver of the tractor trailer was treated and released on the scene for minor injuries. No one else was injured in the incident. The next of kin has not been notified of the incident.
