Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating a report of a person shot. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 7:45 p.m.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a person was shot and taken to the Piedmont Hospital Emergency Room by personal vehicle. The victim was reported to be a 16-year-old male juvenile. He stated that he was handing a friend’s loaded firearm and accidently shot himself in the thigh.
The 16-year-old is currently listed to be critical, but stable condition. The name of the 16-year-old will not be released at this time.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
