The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit and Bibb County Traffic/Heat Unit, working in cooperation with the Georgia State Patrol, conducted “Operation Rolling Thunder” from October 7, 2022, through October 8, 2022. This operation is a continuation of law enforcement efforts in deterring traffic offenses and other criminal issues that affect the citizens in Macon-Bibb County.
This county wide emphasis on illegal activities resulted in Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies and Georgia State Patrol Troopers arresting forty-one individuals, including serving twenty-five outstanding warrants and issuing four hundred and twenty-eight citations. Included in the total arrests were twenty-three individuals charged with DUI and thirty-seven firearms were recovered, five of the recovered guns were reported stolen.
